Walkers setting out on the iconic Coast to Coast trail can now collect special stamps along the way thanks to the launch of the brand-new Coast to Coast Passport – and Richmond is proud to play a key part in this exciting new initiative.

The passport allows walkers to collect unique stamps at locations across the Coast to Coast route, which stretches approximately 200 miles from St Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire. With 39 stamping locations in total, the passport encourages walkers to explore and support local businesses and attractions along the way.

In Richmond – a major stopping point for many walkers – no fewer than 12 local venues have signed up as official stamping agents. These include:

• The Ralph Fitz Randal (Wetherspoon)

• The Fleece Hotel

• The Buck Inn

• The Kings Head Hotel

• The Green Howards Museum

• Georgian Theatre Royal

• The Castle House Luxury Bed & Breakfast

• Mountain Warehouse Richmond

• Alt-Berg Ltd

To get started, walkers simply need to purchase a Coast to Coast Passport, which is available online or at selected outlets along the route. As you walk the trail, stop in at participating venues to get your passport stamped – a fun way to track your journey and create a memorable souvenir of your adventure.

The Coast to Coast Path is set to become a new National Trail in 2025, with significant investment going into improving access and signage. The introduction of the passport is part of a wider effort to celebrate and promote this much-loved long-distance walk.
