Local residents and visitors are invited to join a free guided walk this Easter Monday, 21 April, from 2 to 3pm, hosted by the Richmondshire Landscape Trust. The event promises an enjoyable and informative stroll through a scenic stretch of Trust land, following a route from Sleegill to Mercury Bridge.

Participants are asked to meet at the entrance to the football ground on Sleegill, where the walk will begin. Along the way, walkers will learn more about the area’s rich history, as well as its diverse flora and fauna, with knowledgeable guides sharing insights into this much-loved corner of Richmond.

The event is open to all – members, friends and visitors alike – and is suitable for anyone with a moderate level of fitness. Sturdy footwear is recommended due to the natural terrain.

The Richmondshire Landscape Trust is a local charity established twenty years ago with a mission to preserve and protect local green spaces for public enjoyment and to support biodiversity. Through the care of its land and the promotion of community engagement, the Trust continues to champion the natural beauty and heritage of the Richmond area.
