Richmond is pleased to welcome a brand-new eatery to its wide collection of cafes, restaurants, pubs and bars.

Morro Lounge opened its doors to the public earlier this month and is open all day, every day for long, lazy breakfasts, sociable brunches and lunches, and relaxed dinners and drinks.

Located at the top of the Market Place, it occupies the former HSBC bank premises and many of the building’s original features have been incorporated into the design, including its impressively high and ornate ceilings. The interiors are bright and colourful with an eclectic mix of portraits and paintings adorning the walls and a variety of seating, from comfy sofas to high bar tables.

Catering for all markets – dogs are allowed, and families are made welcome with the provision of games and colouring materials – it has already proved very popular in its first few days of trading.

Morro Lounge is the latest addition to the town’s many culinary options, with Wilfred’s Deli opening its Canteen on Newbiggin earlier in the summer. It is open Wednesday to Saturday from 9am to 4pm for breakfast, lunch and tea.
