The 2024 Richmond Walking and Book Festival will once again bring together book lovers and outdoor enthusiasts in the scenic town of Richmond, North Yorkshire. Running from 20 to 29 September, this unique event offers a blend of guided walks and engaging literary talks.

The walking programme caters to all abilities, from challenging high-level routes to town trails and shorter walks. Led by experienced guides, these walks allow participants to explore the area's rich natural beauty and heritage.

On the literary side, the festival will feature talks from bestselling authors, nature writers, and emerging voices. Opening the Festival is a talk on Agatha Christie by the popular historian Lucy Worsley (now sold out). Set in historic venues like the Georgian Theatre Royal and the Town Hall, these events offer book lovers the chance to meet their favourite authors and discover new works.

The festival also brings together the local community, with businesses, cafes, and bookshops contributing to the lively atmosphere in Richmond. Whether you’re a keen walker, an avid reader, or both, the Richmond Walking and Book Festival promises a memorable experience in one of the UK’s most beautiful regions.

A full programme of events can be viewed on the Festival website.
