Richmond Women's Institute

Richmond WI meets in the church hall behind St Joseph and St Francis Xavier Church, Newbiggin, DL10 4DT, on the second Monday of the month at 7 p.m.  There is no meeting in August.  We usually have a speaker at the start at the meeting, followed by refreshments.  We then give out details of any up-coming activities.  In addition to the  meeting, we have a needlecraft afternoon,  a walking group and a Mah Jong evening each month and organise other events as requested by members.

Visitors are welcome without charge for a couple of meetings, so prospective new members can see what Richmond WI is about.  Annual membership for 2018 is £41.00, but new members joining throughout the year pay a pro rata rate, depending when they join.

November Meeting

"Bags of Difference".    Chris and Ed Mitchell gave a presentation on their association with a small village in Uganda where they have advised and helped local women to make bags, aprons and other items which are then sold in the UK and the money returned to the individual women involved.  Some of these items were on sale.
